Evaluations

A speech and language evaluation is used to gain information regarding your child's speech and language skills. Information is collected from standardized tests, observation and parent input for the most comprehensive look at your child's speech and language development.

During an evaluation some or all of the following areas are addressed:

  • Receptive language - what a child understands

  • Expressive language - what the child communicates

  • Social/Pragmatic Language - how the child uses langauge

  • Articulation - how speech sounds are made

  • Vocabulary

  • Phonemic awareness

  • Oral motor skills

  • Fluency

  • Voice

  • Feedling/Swallowing
